A Word In Spanish was the third single from Elton’s 1988 album Reg Strikes Back.
The video was directed by Russell Mulcahy and choreograped by Kenny Ortega, who worked extensively with Michael Jackson and on the film “Dirty Dancing”. Filmed in Florida’s Miami Beach area, some of the locations included the 5th Street Gym (the former training site for numerous championship boxers), the Cameo Theater on Washington Avenue, and the Beacon Hotel on Ocean Drive.
Elton’s guitarist, Davey Johnstone, makes a brief appearance playing the Spanish guitar solo in the video, as he does on the record.
