Recover Your Soulwas the second single from Elton’s 1997 album The Big Picture.
The video was directed by Marcus Nispel – following his video for Believe in 1995 – and shot at the Loew's Jersey Theatre in Jersey City, NJ, with actor/comedian Victor Varnado in the role of the “gramophone” angel. It was the last of Elton’s videos (for a single from one of his own albums) to be anchored by his on-screen performance of the song until A Good Heart in 2016.
