Ghodi or Khodi is a Punjabi folk song or traditional punjabi songs often sung at weddings on ladies sangeet. This song is always sung by the groom's sister before he leaves on the 'Ghodi' (on horseback) for the house of his bride to be. Traditionally, in Punjab the groom would ride on horseback to the brides house in time for the wedding ceremony that commences at her house.

'Ghoriyaan', 'Suhaag', 'Sithniyan' and 'Tappe' form the traditional music associated with every Punjabi wedding.

Folk songs are often sung at Punjabi weddings and at ladies sangeet functions. The rich culture of Punjab, the fun ethos, the never dying spirit of Punjabi people along with their music, rituals, and customs are highlighted and represented in this song.

There are other types of songs like bhangra songs, gidha songs, bolian, tappe, etc. also sung during festivities by punjabi’s across the world. Collectively such songs are called as ‘shagna de geet’ in the Punjabi language.

Ghodi or Khodi as some people call it is sung and performed here by Jasleen Aulakh.
