There’s a new breakup anthem on the block, and it’s Selena’s unfairly infectious “Single Soon.” Written “seven years” ago, according to Selena, this summer one-off sparkles with the mature pop gleam of her ‘Rare’ album. Talking to Footnotes, the singer told us how she “held onto” releasing this one until now because the lyrical content “didn’t really match” her artistic (and personal) headspace back then. “Now I can relate to it,” she revealed. Among other things, the ‘Sex and the City’ superfan commented on the video’s Easter Eggs and that adorable opening voicemail from sis. Plenty of talk about the new album near the end too…
