Healing Hands was the first single from Elton’s 1989 album, Sleeping With The Past.

The video was directed by Russell Mulcahy and based in part on the look of the album’s cover photos which were taken by fashion photographer Herb Ritts. Elton's lyricist Bernie Taupin said the song was, "An updated version of the Four Tops' ‘Reach Out I'll Be There’, only slightly more religious."
