It’s a selection of top Basie recordings from the same period, this time featuring vocals by the one and only “Mr. Five by Five”: JIMMY RUSHING.
Known as the best of the “Blues shouters” Mr. Rushing also demonstrate possessing an unique, quite original, style when singing pop songs.
As expected here we meet again the best soloists of the band: Lester Young, Buck Clayton, Dicky Wells, Don Byas and so on, all in great form, as well as the top famed rhythm section of them all: Count Basie (piano), Freddie Green (guitar), Walter Page (bass) and and Jo Jones (drums).
