After much experimentation, I arrived at a series of doors in action - opening and (sometimes) closing - three rows high and twelve doors across. This created a larger 'canvas' within which to construct ever-evolving visual black & white patterns.
The overall emphasis in this instance was one of glamour and bourgeois sophistication evoking MGM musicals of the 40s. The music, a medley of soap opera-tinged melodies, became the foundation of an implied narrative concerning two gender-codified characters who echo the color scheme, separated by artificial boundaries, performing an intricate 'pas de door'... ;)
