Exciting tale of struggles through a journey: a kid who decides to turn to a mysterious "Mr. Wonder" for help. The story behind the song is Iossa's search for a guide role in his life: a father, a friend, a mentor: some leading roles in a jungle world. Only to find them all in a man called Jesus, his God of Wonders. The production was inspired and influenced by french funky disco music and Motown classics: a homage to Stevie Wonder, who fits the metaphoric key role perfectly.
Lyrics.
MR. WONDER (A. Iossa)
Mister Wonder!
If I had a dime for every time I helped a friend
I’d have a tower full of cash
But you know life is strange
My neighbour’s got the world and I got nothing
I still have nothing
Today’s the day when all the nonsense
Needs to stop
I made my deal with my clean conscience
Now I’m done
I packed my bags I leave tomorrow
‘Fore I go
A little prayer for the road
Let me travel through the sounds of history
Let me jump up to the skies we could not see
Mister Wonder check this out, I’m on my knees
Do your magic till it knocks me down
Mister Wonder
Help me Mister Wonder
Mister Wonder
Help me Mister Wonder
Mister Wonder
Help me Mister Wonder
Mister Wonder
Help me Mister Wonder
If it seems I’m not as good at writing as at singing
Humanity will dance upon this makebelieve
So either you respect it or you bite it
You better buy it
Today’s the day when all the nonsense
Needs to stop
I made my deal with my clean conscience
Now I’m done
I packed my bags I leave tomorrow
‘Fore I go
A little prayer for the road
Break it down!
Before the moments just pass me by
(Today’s the day when all the nonsense needs to stop)
Before I step on a butterfly
(I made my deal with my clean conscience now I’m done)
Before I’m kicked out from my hometown
(I packed my bags I leave tomorrow ‘fore I go)
Before the night falls and knocks me down
(A little prayer, A little prayer for the road)
Let me travel through the sounds of history
Let me jump up to the skies we could not see
Mister Wonder check this out, I’m on my knees
Do your magic till it knocks me down
Let me travel through the sounds of history
Let me jump up to the skies we could not see
