An inspired initiative created by the visionary Kaushiki Chakarbarty. She is the leading female vocalist in Indian classical music. Kaushiki has brought together India’s first ever all-ladies ensemble and harnesses the creative energies of contemporary India’s best young talents representing all streams of the Vedic heritage of Indian classical art.
This MERU Concert was held on 1st August 2015 at Theater Oranjerie in Roermond, The Netherlands.

Debopriya Chatterjee, flautist - she studied under legendary flautist Padma Vibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. She is one of the very few performing women flautists in Indian Classical Music
Nandini Shankar, violinist – a very talented and amazing violinist, a born musician. She is trained under her illustrious grandmother Padma Bhushan Dr. N Rajam and her exemplary mother Dr. Sangeeta Shankar.
Bhakti Deshpande, Kathak dancer - she began her artistic journey at an early age under her parents and gurus. She is also blessed to have been training under Padma Vibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj and Padma Shri Suresh Talwalkar since the age of 12.
Savani Talwalkar, tabla percussionist - she studied classical music and tabla from her legendary father, a tabla maestro Padma Shri Suresh Talwalkar as well her mother Padma Talwalkar, a well-known classical vocalist.
Mahima Upadhyay, Pakhawaj percussionist - fondly known as ‘The Pakhawaj Princess’, she carries a 400 year old legacy of unbroken Pakhawaj family tradition. Mahima has received training under her father, the great Pakhawaj Maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar Upadhyay.
