Written by fifteen-time Oscar nominee Thomas Newman for Sebastian Knauer, this commissioned work features a calm and expressive dialogue between piano and orchestra, showcasing Knauer's skill and the lush orchestral texture.

"Shoulder Length" is part of Knauer’s upcoming album, Hollywood, which celebrates the musical legacy of the legendary composer Alfred Newman. The album includes ten orchestral arrangements by David Newman, who conducts the orchestra, along with compositions by Thomas Newman—both sons of Alfred. Alfred Newman is a towering figure in 20th-century film music, renowned for the iconic 20th Century Fox fanfare and for winning nine Academy Awards throughout his illustrious career.
