CHENG-HSUN YEH
PLAYS CHOPIN, LISZT & MORE!
Cheng-Hsun has been learning piano since he was 4 years old. His comprehension ability, learning speed and unique interpretation of music have impressed many people and he’s been invited to perform at the Taiwan National Concert Hall, New Taipei City Music Hall and Taiwan Faziloi Center.
Cheng-Hsun gave his first solo recital at the age of eight in Taipei, Taiwan and a solo recital at age of nine in Poros, Greece. Cheng-Hsun embraces a wide range of repertoire, including solo and concertos. At the moment, Cheng-Hsun is planning to record the Chopin Etudes, Ballades, and Ravel’s Gaspard de la Nuit.
Cheng-Hsun won a number of international competitions such as the Taoyuan Student Piano Competition in Taiwan (First Prize, 2015), the 5th International Youth Pianist Competition in Japan (First Prize, 2016), and the 4th Taipei Chinese International Youth Piano Competition in Taiwan (First Prize, 2017). Cheng-Hsun also attended international masterclasses including Poros Piano Academy (Greece), Philadelphia Young Pianists' Academy (USA), VCU Global Summer Institute of Music (USA), Music Fest Perugia (Italy), Amalfi Coast Music & Arts Festival (Italy), International Taipei Master Piano Art Festival (Taiwan).
Cheng-Hsun was born in Taoyuan, Taiwan (R.O.C) in 2005. He began studying piano under professor Sylvia Hsiang-Tai Chu and under professor Chun-Chieh Yen. Now Cheng-Hsun is a student of Taiwan’s famous affiliated senior high school of NTNU. In addition to the piano, Cheng-Hsun also likes to compose music, and is currently studying composition with Ching-Yu Hsiau in affiliated senior high school of NTNU.
Cheng-Hsun is studying 32 Beethoven Sonatas and is planning to record them in future.
