Works by Liszt and Chopin, contemporaries and good friends in their time, come together on Mariam Batsashvili's debut Warner Classics album: https://w.lnk.to/lisztchopinLY

Chopin was born in 1810 and Liszt in 1811, and they were good friends for a time when they were both living in Paris. They even dedicated études to each other, a number of which are included on the album, along with the arrangements that Liszt made of six Polish songs composed by Chopin.

Still in her mid-twenties, Mariam Batsashvili has given recitals in more than 30 countries and appeared as a concerto soloist with major orchestras and conductors. She began playing the piano at the age of four and decided three years later that she wanted to make a career as a musician. “The piano allows me to express everything that I want to say, what I want to tell people," she says. "My goal is to reach people through music.”
