“Once in a Lifetime" is filled with warm, touching messages of consolation for everyone going through life at the moment. With love as the motive, it is full of moments that couples, families, and friends share.

The album is full of R&B music he does best as the "R&B Daddy". The pre-released track "I Will Find You First" comes with a special music video showing the surprise performances by Kim johan himself, at different locations like the bus station, fire station, restaurants, weddings, markets, colleges, and gyms. The music video also features a friendly appearance of chef Raymon Kim who looks just like Kim johan, adding some fun.

Composer with a jazz vocal major, Francis, who is actively making music in the states, worked on the title song "I Know I Know, It Hurts". Kim johan's unique voice sings of the feelings of regretting, missing, and realizing the value a love that has come to an end. Kim johan's amazing vocal skills, along with the deep emotions toward the end of the song, prove him worthy of his nickname, R&B Daddy.

R&B대디답게 스스로 가장 잘 할수 있는 음악들로 채워졌으며, 발매에 앞서 선공개 했던 “내가 먼저 찾아갈게”는. 김조한이 직접 버스차고지, 소방서, 레스토랑, 결혼식, 시장, 대학교, 복싱장의 시민들을 찾아가 깜짝 이벤트로 버스킹투어를 하는 스패셜뮤직비디오가 공개돼 화제를 모았다.
특히 싱크로율 100%를 자랑하는 레이먼킴 쉐프가 우정 출연해 즐거움을 더했다.

미국에서 활발하게 활동중인 재즈보컬 전공의 작곡가 Francis가 타이틀곡 “알아알아 앓아”에 참여해 사랑했던 남녀가 헤어진 후 느끼는 서로의 소중함과 후회, 그리워하는 내용을 김조한 특유의 보이스로 완성했다. 가창력의 끝판왕이라 불리어도 될 만큼 후반부로 갈수록 짙어지는 감성과 실력은 그가 왜 R&B대디인지를 여실히 보여준다.
