My second original song is finished! It's called Made With Machines. If you don't like it, I probably will cry or something. And as usual, this was composed and performed 100% live entirely with hardware instruments - without the aid of a computer! Here's the gear I used:
-Yamaha MG124C Mixer
-Korg KP3
-Korg EMX-1
-Korg MicroKorg
-Roland SP-404SX
-Akai XR20
-Alesis 3630
The only edit I did during post-production was adding a bit of reverb.
The purpose of these videos is to break the notion that all electronic music has to be performed by DJs with a set of turtables or Ableton controllers. If there is no risk involved, can you really consider something a performance?
And now for a quick little bio for those of you who have read all this! My name is Ethan Dirks, and starting in late 2011 I started going by my performance name Vox Atomic. I make live electronic music! I've been building up my collection of synths/drum machines/sequencers/effects processors/samplers/etc over these few years, and am always shifting my preferences in electronic music. Expect more original songs in the near future, especially more drum and bass stuff and maybe some 140 bpm electro.
