I lost 74lbs in the past year… and the transformation I experienced on the outside is just the tip of the iceberg.
On feb 8 2024 I sat down to film that video and, although I never ended up posting it, I’m so proud of her for taking that first step. I remember feeling terrified and lost and uncertain if I’d ever feel good in my own skin again but I was determined to find my way back to myself whoever that might be on the other side.
I wish I had a montage of all the 5am alarms I set so I could get up and walk for an hour on my walking pad before the baby woke up or the hours and hours spent in my studio reconnecting and relearning how to write songs in this new brain or the numerous break downs I had when I ran into plateaus or when people in the comments would ask me “when did you get so fat” but sadly these are the only clips I got of myself at this time because I was afraid I wouldn’t be able to do it… but I did!
I’m so proud of myself for losing the weight but I’m so much more proud of myself for the confidence I’ve gained in the process by keeping promises to myself, by sticking to the plan even on the weeks I saw no progress. So much can be accomplished with just a few small choices made everyday over a period of time and having experienced this first hand on my postpartum journey I am now able to apply this to so many as areas of my life. I feel like there’s nothing I can’t accomplish with a plan and daily action.
So for anyone on a postpartum or weight loss or self discovery journey… I see you… you’ve got this! Take those small seemingly insignificant steps everyday because you deserve to find your way back to yourself too!
