1. His date of birth is unknown.
We only know his baptism date, December 17, 1770, which is commonly used to celebrate the composer’s birthday.

2. He was the third Ludwig van Beethoven in his family.
The first was the composer’s grandfather, also a musician. The second was Beethoven’s brother, who passed away shortly after his birth.

3. He studied with Mozart’s teacher, Franz Joseph Haydn.
He took lessons with Haydn when he moved to Vienna also because Haydn was Mozart’s teacher (one of Beethoven’s idols).

4. The famous Élise from “Für Elise” was actually called Thérèse.
When musicologist Ludwig Nohl found the score work, only two letters of the title were readable, "se", so he thought of "Elise" and named it that.

5. Beethoven’s father told everyone that his son was two years younger than he was.
His father had reduced Beethoven’s age by two years when he played in public for the first time, at “six” years old, he was.in fact, eight.
