For 'Correlations (on 11 pianos)' Carlos Cipa returned the focus to the piano and recorded on 11 different ones – 6 Grands, 3 Uprights, a Square, and a Fender Rhodes – for which he chose three very different settings: his own studio in Munich, Germany and two cultural centers called "Die Villa" in Pinswang, Austria and the "Prinzenpalais" in Wolfenbüttel, Germany. He teamed up with sound engineer Jan Brett and they put together a portable set-up to be able to quickly adapt to these different locations and to catch the vibes of the various instruments. In December 2019, over a span of about two weeks, they travelled to these places together with filmmaker Johannes Brugger who caught some very intimate and beautiful impressions.

This short documentary lets you in on a few insights in the recording process, the instruments Carlos chose, the places they travelled to, and the equipment they worked with and brings you closer to some of the moments they experienced while creating 'Correlations'.
