Join us in an online listening party for Lucky Daye’s 'Candydrip.' Tiny Desk producer Bobby Carter will lead a conversation with R&B singer Lucky Daye, engineer John Kercy and album producer D’Mile.
“Lucky Daye has done enough since his debut to prove it wasn’t a fluke," Carter writes in his review for “NWA," the third and final single from 'Candydrip.' Daye got his start singing on 'American Idol' and writing songs for Ella Mai, Trey Songz and Mary J. Blige, but his voice begged for the spotlight. After releasing 'Painted' in 2019, Daye scored six Grammy nominations and three Tiny Desk appearances — a solo performance, plus guest spots for KIRBY and Raphael Saadiq. Candy Drip, out March 11, features verses from Smino and Lil Durk, but is very much this crooner’s vision.
