The album offers a creatively conceived program by the quartet, whose capacities for crossing genres have already been proven with such albums as Eternal Stories, Fiction, and Brazil. 'Round Midnight brings together major figures from different streams of 20th-century music: Arnold Schönberg, Henri Dutilleux, and four masters of jazz and popular idioms – Thelonius Monk, Cole Porter, Henry Mancini, and Victor Young.

The members of the quartet are Pierre Colombet (violin), Gabriel Le Magadure (violin), Marie Chilemme (viola), and Raphaël Merlin (cello).
